Day 1: Arrival in the Ochre City – Marrakech & 7-Day Journey from the Coast to the Sahara
Welcome to Morocco! Upon your arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), your personal driver and guide will greet you and transfer you to your traditional Riad a charming house with an interior garden.
After settling in, begin your immersion with a sunset visit to Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. As night falls, watch the square transform into a open-air theatre of storytellers, snake charmers, and food stalls.

Day 2: Marrakech – Palaces, Gardens & Souks

Day 3: Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains & Aït Benhaddou
Today, leave the city behind. Cross the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m altitude) in the High Atlas Mountains. Stop for panoramic photos of Berber villages clinging to cliffs.
Your main stop is the legendary Ksar of Aït Benhaddou – a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fortified village has served as a backdrop for Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and The Mummy.
- Afternoon: Continue to Ouarzazate (the “Hollywood of Africa”) for a quick photo stop at the Atlas Film Studios.
- Evening: Arrive in the Rose Valley and enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 4: Dades Gorges to the Sahara Desert – Merzouga
Drive through the dramatic Dades Gorges, where rock formations twist into bizarre “monkey fingers.” Then, travel via Todra Gorges – a massive canyon perfect for a short walk between 300m high cliffs.
By afternoon, you’ll reach the golden dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi).
- The Highlight: Park your luggage at a hotel, then mount a camel for a 1.5-hour trek into the heart of the Sahara. Watch the sunset paint the dunes orange and red.

Day 6: Fez – The Spiritual & Intellectual Capital
Today, explore the world’s largest living medieval medina. A licensed local guide is essential here.
- Morning: Enter the Medina of Fez (Fes el-Bali) through the famous Blue Gate. Visit the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the Chouara Tannery (where leather is dyed in colorful vats).
- Afternoon: See the exterior of the University of Al Quaraouiyine (the oldest existing university in the world). Then, visit the royal palace gates and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah).
- Evening: Free time to shop for high-quality pottery or silk.
