13 Days in Morocco Tour from Tangier

Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Ruin Romanas Volubilis – Meknez – Fes

On our 13-day desert adventure, we depart Tangier and head toward Meknes, which is close to the Maamora forest. Arrival at Meknes, the city elevated to its pinnacle by Sultan Mulay Ismail. The Roman remains of Volubilis are located 27 kilometers from Meknes, and a visit to the holy city of Moulay Idriss is also made. Proceeding to Fez. Meals and lodging at the hotel.

Day 3: Visit Fes World Heritage

We will have a guided tour of the oldest imperial city in the morning. As the first center of politics, religion, and culture, it was established in 808. We enter the Royal Palace through the Golden Gates to start our tour. We will later see the wall enclosing an outstanding historic medina from a high point.

Then after that, we’ll experience the hundreds of feelings it elicits while walking on foot. Up to the tanners’ quarter, we shall pass by mosques, madrasas, caravanserais, and other places of worship. We continue our tour of the area of the craftsmen after some free time for lunch, which is not included.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Monkey Forest – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Desert

Day 4 of our 13-day trek into the desert began in Tangier. We take a car to the Merzouga dunes after breakfast. We’re going to visit Ifrane, sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Africa, in the Middle Atlas.

The next village is Azrou, also known as “the rock,” where we will pause to view the monkeys in their natural habitat.

At 1,907 meters above sea level, the Tizi Talghemt, also known as Cuello del Camella, comes next on the trail. The mountains are entirely barren and covered with a thick layer of purple, creating an amazing relief.

Once at Errachidia, proceed to the Erfoud palm grove by traversing the Tafilalet mountain.

We’ll keep going on the path until we get to the well-known Erg Chebbi sand dunes, which are close to Merzouga.

You will have some free time once you arrive to take in the peace of the desert and see the dunes as they change color. Dinner and lodging in a Kasbah at the base of the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Day 5: Visit Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

On this first day of our 13-day desert journey from Tangier, we will pass another route used in the «Paris-Dakar Rally», see desert nomads and have tea with them. We will also see the oasis where several movies, including Penelope Cruz’s “Sahara,” were made. We are going to a village called “the Blacks,” so called because of the slave trade that these people brought with them from Sudan.

We will also switch the 4 × 4’s traction to animal traction when we finish eating. The dromedaries will lead us into the dune desert so we can enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

We’re going to spend a unique night beneath the dunes in the nomadic tents known as Khaimas, much like the Berbers do. We’re going to enjoy music, a Berber meal, and an unparalleled starry sky here. Dinner and sleeping arrangements in unique tents.

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

We’ll head to Rissani to see the market and its renowned donkey parking after a hearty breakfast. All of the desert’s tribes and nomads gather here to resupply, making it a special location. An really interesting visit.

After that, we’ll travel to Erfoud to see fossil quarries that date back more than 380 million years. We’ll keep going till we get to the well-known Gorges of Todra, a top destination for hikers and climbers.

Day 7: Dades – Valley of the Roses – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate _ Marrakech

We shall travel the “Route of a thousand Kasbhas” to get to the Valley of Dades. We will travel through the Valley of the Roses, where the locals produce lotions, soaps, and rose water. Next, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will see the well-known Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Several well-known movies, including Gladiator, Obelix, and Sahara starring Penelope Cruz, were filmed in this breathtaking location.

After leaving Ouarzazate and traveling across the 2,260-meter-high Tizi Ntichka Pass from the High Atlas, we finally arrive in Marrakech. A hotel room.

Day 8: Visit Marrakech

Day 8 of our 13-day desert tours from Tangier will take you around the city, with stops including the Menara Gardens with its pond, the Saadian tombs that house the city’s founders, the Bahia Palace, the former vizier’s residence, the Koutobia with its magnificent minaret, and the impressive DJemma El-Fná Square, which doubles as a fantastic souk during the day and a magical spectacle at night. Day 10: Marrakech – Essaouira
